Award show season is upon us as the Golden Globes have kicked off the new year with a night full of homage, solidarity, and congratulations. Held on January 6th, the prestigious ceremony recognizes actors, directors, and production teams for their work on movies, TV shows, and soundtracks from the previous year. How Our Society is Not in Unison

The 21st century has seen a lot of growth and evolution when it comes to societal norms, everyday trends, and new controversies. In the last decade, popular technology and social media platforms that we have access to have exploited topics such as rape and sexual assault, female stereotypes, and the toxicity that is evident in our way of life. Defy Media Ceases Operations

If you are a regular Youtube watcher, or somewhat familiar with popular networks like Clevver or Smosh, then you are probably aware of their sudden halt on all media and productions. Last Wednesday, many entertainers from the channels announced that their parent company informed them of a full shut down without notice, effective immediately. This comes with shock and confusion for the millions of subscribers, as well as over 100 employees and content providers. NBC news correspondent and talk show host Megyn Kelly is facing backlash after a comment made on her Tuesday morning segment. The particular episode featured an all white panel, as they were discussing the evolution of Halloween costume trends as well as college universities placing rules on student costumes. Everything to Know about ‘A Star is Born’

If you believe that Lady Gaga’s career peaked at the time of ‘Poker Face’ and her infamous meat dress, then you haven’t seen A Star is Born. Acting alongside Bradley Cooper, the movie depicts a genuine love story with toxicity and hardships wound within. As the fourth remake of the timeless Hollywood love story, the two leads have made this modern era version something that will go down as the most iconic.

The film follows Jackson Maine, a popular rock ‘n’ roll singer who is slowly losing his love for his craft. Following one of his shows, he meets Ally, an undiscovered singer-songwriter performing in a karaoke drag bar. Performing her rendition of the classic La Vie En Rose, the two old souls meet and slowly begin their journey together. 1 Year Anniversary of the Biggest Shooting in US History

It has been a year since Las Vegas experienced the biggest mass shooting in modern American History. During the closing night of the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, Jason Aldean’s set came to a sudden halt when random and continuous gunshots were heard in the venue. Megan Mahon Commits to ONU

We officially have a Polar Bear in our Wolf Pack. West Clermont senior Megan Mahon will be attending Ohio Northern University as a member of the girl’s volleyball team starting next autumn. As a leader of the Wolves and captain of the varsity team, Megan is excited to be continuing her playing career after high school, as she is not ready to give that opportunity of competition up.

How 9/11 Changed America

One of the biggest tragedies in American history took place on September 11, 2001. Four planes were hijacked by members of the Islamic terrorist group, al-Qaeda. Two of those aircrafts crashed into the two World Trade Centers in New York City, one into the Pentagon, and the last into a field in Pennsylvania. Nearly 3000 people were killed in this attack, with over 6000 injured. It was a circumstance that ultimately shaped the country we know now.

The United States of America has changed drastically because of the events that we now call ‘9/11’. From airport security to Islamic stereotypes, America’s witnessing of this terrorist attack changed our perspectives of the country we live in and the type of security measures in place.  Continue reading How 9/11 Changed America
