Iran’s Missile Attack On US Airbase

On Wednesday, January 8, 2020 Iran fired multiple missiles onto “two Iraqi bases housing US troops” https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/07/politics/rockets-us-airbase-iraq/index.html. As many people believed this was their attack as revenge to the United States since President Trump had their major general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Qasem Soleimani, killed on the 3 of January in Baghdad, Iraq.

According to CNN.com, Iran specifically targeted the al-Asad airbase and American and coalition forces in Erbil that housed many US troops. When the news broke that Iran fired the missiles onto the base many feared that soldiers would have be killed and a third world war would erupt. Luckily, as of now no United States citizen has been injured or killed.
