Car accidents and how they can affect teens.

 Teen accidents

So recently I asked a few students from West Clermont if they have ever got into a car accident, and just more into detail about the accident, and if it has affected their school life in any sort of way.

Here below are the students, and their answers.

Now we have Justice Hodge

It just taught me to be way more cautious when driving, especially in the rain.

It has not affected my school life in any way.

What is your opinion on being able to get your license at 16?

I think you should be able to get your license at 16, because teens need to have a way of transportation to school, work, sports, ect. without having to rely on parents who work and have other responsibilities.

When did you crash?

Sophomore year.

Why did you crash?

She wasn’t paying attention to the road.

Who was at fault?

She was at fault.

Could you have been prevented, and if so how?

Yes , by paying more attention to her surroundings.

On a scale 1-10 how severe?

On a scale 1-10, a 3.

Has it affected you in any way, if so how?

She get more scared when she brakes behind someone her anxiety rises and she freaks herself out.

Has it affected your school life in any way?

It hasn’t.

What is your opinion on being able to get your license at 16?

“I think me getting my license at 16 was challenging for me and my mom, but it gives kids the opportunity to become better drivers the older they get, even at a young age it’s risky but it’s worth it as long as you’re careful.”

  • I then put a poll up asking students if they’d ever crashed, the results came in at, 54% have been in a car accident, and the other 46% of students have not.
  • Under the poll I had a question asking the drivers who have been in an accident if it affected their education at all? And the results came in at, 100% at no it didn’t affect their school life.
