College Football National Championship

On Monday the Alabama Crimson tide took on the Clemson tigers in the college football national championship game. Both teams were 14-0 and only one could make history by going 15-0. Going into this game everyone thought it was going to be a close game. Both of these teams have high powered offenses and defenses so it would come out to which staff put together the better game scheme. These two teams are young and will have many players coming back next year as well too.

The first quarter of the game the Alabama Crimson Tide threw a pick six on their first drive of the game after they had just made Clemson go three and out. Alabama then answered right back throwing a deep ball to Jerry Jeudy for a 62 yard touchdown. The score was now tied at 7-7 with 12:05 left in the first quarter. Clemson comes right back and answers with a touchdown run from Travis Etienne. Both teams were just scoring left and right during the first half and Alabama answered right back with a nice drive and a touchdown but they missed the extra point making the game 13-14 Clemson.

During the second half Clemson started to turn things around. They stopped Alabama from scoring from a first and goal and only let up a field goal then they came down and scored making it 16-21. Clemson’s defense outsmarted Alabama’s offense during this game and was making it very difficult for them to score. Clemson picked off Alabama twice during the game scoring on both of them one was a pick six and the other Clemson’s offense drove down the field and scored. At the end of the first half the Alabama Crimson Tide were trailing 16-28.

Clemson’s quarterback (Trevor Lawrence) is a true freshman and so is Justyn Ross there wide receiver who had six receptions for 153 yards. Tua tagovailoa threw two interceptions during this game and that had a big impact on it. Clemson up rooted Alabama 16-44 winning the national championship. Most people did not think Clemson would blow them out like this though. Most players from both Clemson and Alabama will be back next year.
