The NBA Playoffs have started now and we are winding down to the conference finals. With everything that has happened so far in the playoffs, you might be pretty far behind. Today you will learn about everything that has happened in the 2018 NBA Playoffs so far.
In the first round of the playoffs we started with 16 teams, 8 teams from each conference. The teams who made it through in the Eastern Conference were the Toronto Raptors, who face the Washington Wizards. This series went 6 games and showed that the Toronto Raptors were not going to be easy to beat. The Cleveland Cavaliers also made it out of the first round. Although this series was much closer, Lebron James proved that he was not going to lose a series in the first round. The series went 7 games and showed that the Cleveland Cavaliers are not as dominant as many people believed them to be. The third series in the Eastern Conference was the Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers and the Miami Heat. As Dwayne Wade fought father time, it just wasn’t enough to prevail against the Sixers in this series. The young team proved to many people in just 5 games that they weren’t going down easy. The final Eastern Conference Series for the first round was the Boston Celtics vs. the Milwaukee Bucks. This exciting series went 7 games with the Boston Celtics proving that their injured roster was much better than many anticipated.
For the first round in the Western Conference, the first series to be played was the Houston Rockets against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In just 5 games, the Houston Rockets breezed by the Timberwolves fairly easy. The second series was the Utah Jazz vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder. In this series we saw just how dominant the rookie Donovan Mitchel is, he led the Jazz to a 4-2 series win over one of the favorite teams to win it all. The third series had the Portland Trailblazers facing off with the New Orleans Pelicans. With the only 4-0 sweep in the first round, the New Orleans Pelicans proved to be a hard team to beat. And finally, the last series in the first round of the NBA playoffs had the Golden State Warriors vs. the San Antonio Spurs. In this series, we saw just how dominant the Warriors can be with everyone playing. The Warriors won the series in just 5 games.

After all of the first round series were aver, here are the match-ups that we saw.
Eastern Conference Western Conference Raptors vs. Cavaliers Rockets vs. Jazz Celtics vs. Seventy-Sixers Pelicans vs. Warriors
In the Eastern Conference, we find The Toronto Raptors heavily out matched against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Lebron James led the Cavaliers to a 4-0 series win. The next series in the Eastern Conference is still being played as we see the Boston Celtics facing off against the Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers. In this series, Boston took a comanding 3-0 series lead over the Sixers, but could not win the fourth game. The Sixers are not going to go down without a fight. The next game being played between these two teams will be tonight, May 9 at 8:00 pm.
In the Western Conference, we have the Houston Rockets facing the Utah Jazz. The series went to five games, ending last night after Donovan Mitchel from the Utah Jazz came out in the fourth quarter with a leg injury. The final series of the Conference Semifinals had the Golden State Warriors against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans were heavily out matched against the Warriors who won the series 4-1.
