What was the first thing you thought when you woke up this morning? For some it may have been to get a shower or maybe eat some breakfast but, for about 83% of adults, the first thing to cross their mind in the early morning was coffee. Although the morning is the most popular time to drink coffee some people get it after school, after work, or even to help stay up to do homework. Dunkin Donuts along with Starbucks are the two biggest coffee producers in the U.S. There are approximately 11,100 Starbucks and 7,200 Dunkin Donuts shops around the United States.
Which one is better? Opinions often vary, Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks have had a strong and friendly competition for many year. Both businesses offer great coffee and amazing customer service too so, trying to determine which one is better can be a tough choice. Some West Clermont students were asked which they prefered, Dunkin or Starbucks? The results show Dunkin Donuts winning but many said they both had really good coffee but it was the food that was offered with the coffee that put Dunkin more ahead of the game. Landon Reveal states “ I prefer Dunkin because I can get a donut with it, and it makes the coffee so much better.” He also said” he enjoyed the bakery items at starbucks but Dunkin really shined during breakfast time.” Jesse Bingamon agreed, Jesse stated “ Dunkin has really good bagels, also their coffee has more flavor which I prefer.”
A few years ago Starbucks outshined Dunkin by a long shot, some people say they prefer the big variety of flavors that Starbucks gives rather than Dunkin Donuts. Maddie Lytle states “ I like Starbucks because their lattes and frappuccinos are better quality than Dunkins.” People who prefer starbucks over Dunkin Donuts coffee say it is worth the price and even an extra long drive sometimes. However for high school students at West Clermont it is said that Dunkin is prefered because “ we’re already running late to school most of the time and we don’t have a ton of money which makes Dunkin Donuts more convenient” says a student from West Clermont. “ I also really like how Dunkin has a half price deal right at the time were getting out of school” says Courtney Stewart.
Dunkin may have won the poll at West Clermont High School but everyone opinions differ so, try both Dunkin and Starbucks out for yourself. I encourage you too also try the bakeries while you visit, you’ll be in for a sweet treat.
